Glitter up!

I am very much into gold glitter these days. I saw so many creative projects on pinterest, I decided to finally give it a shot!

I have had this old chrome frame that I never really used. So I used some mod podge and a paintbrush to transform it into this:

I am very cheesy when it comes to my husband and our marriage. Our three year anniversary is coming up, so I figured that our 1000-day anniversary is also coming up (I don't think there is anything wrong with hunting for reasons to celebrate). Therefore, I got another idea!

I used Word to simply print a matrix of hearts and coloured a few in to make a '1000'. I gifted it to him on our 1000th day together.

How are you creative with gold glitter? Thoughts on celebrating 1000 days? Leave a comment!

Taj Mahal

I never thought that the Taj Mahal would be this big. It is enormous! Our guide took us through the grand gate of the Taj, I stopped and admired the gate itself for about an hour.

As we made our way towards the wonder, our guide insisted that we admire the symmetry. Honestly, if it wasn't for him, I would not have even noticed half the things. It took Shah Jahan, the emperor about 17 years to build the Taj Mahal and 5 years to build the surroundings, a total of 'year twenty twos' as our guide likes to say it.

Ever since I was a child, I always heard that the Taj Mahal is a symbol of love. Well, now that I have learned a little more about it, it means much more than that. It represents the determination of the emperor, the eagerness to build something unique, and something symbolic by which him and his wife will be remembered.

I like the concept of being remembered. At times, I wonder if I have done something that people can remember me by. I encourage you to read more about how the Taj Mahal was built, I mean the nitty gritty construction of it, how the marble was transported, how the stones were carved it, etc. It is truly amazing. Hopefully, it will inspire you to do something good, something ever-lasting, something you will be remembered by.

New Start in the New Year

Start a blog. Its been on the to-do list for the past 4 months. January 1st, the day of fresh starts and new beginnings, has finally arrived. Let's cherish the moment, reflect on 2013, and dream about 2014.

It is easy to forget some great moments of the past year, but recalling the good ones will be the source of hope for the upcoming one. Another year of opportunities passed by. Another year of promises is ahead. I promise to make full use of my time. I promise to spend wisely but generously. I promise to
forgive and forget. I promise to bring myself closer to God. I promise to live freely. This, I promise to myself.
